“Mold-Alloy” - Metal (powder) injection molded parts (MIM)

“Mold-Alloy” or metal (powder) injection molding (MIM) is used to make precision parts from iron and stainless steel, etc. This processing system enables us to mass produce with　compact, complex shaped parts, with high precision and high density, which would otherwise be difficult to process using conventional means.

◆ Making compact, complex shaped 3D parts with high precision and high density
At Iwaki, our long experience and expertise enable us to successfully develop and combine three technologies: die technology, molding technology, and metal powder technology, in order to produce precision parts using metal (powder) injection molding (MIM). This groundbreaking metal processing system has made it possible to engage in mass production with high precision and high density for compact, complex shaped 3D parts, which would otherwise be difficult to process using conventional means.

◆ High quality and low cost technology using a continuous sintering system
Our production system features a continuous sintering furnace. This system is able to mass produce products with minimal quality distortion at low costs and with high thermal efficiency.

Mass production is possible for complex shaped, metal molded 3D parts.
• Dimensions
With uniform shrinkage, high accuracy is achievable with less than ±0.5% in dimensional accuracy.
• High density
A high relative density of more than 95% gives excellent mechanical properties to a finished product.

Pressing and bending is easy due to high malleability.
• Surface roughness
The surface is smooth because fine powder is used.

Various thermal processes are available.

Various surface treatments and finishes, such as plating, black oxide finishing, etc., are easily applicable.
